What is DBT Treatment?
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy has four stages of treatment based on symptom severity. It’s important to find a therapist who has training that fits with the level of treatment as well as can adhere to the DBT model for the greatest movement towards a Life Worth Living.

Suicidal or self harm behaviors, other life threatening behaviors, dropping out of treatment, unstable life conditions (ie. home, school, or volatile relationships)
Includes: diary card, behavioral chain analysis, skills group, at least weekly individual DBT, phone coaching
Post Traumatic Stress processing, high anxiety or sadness related to underlying beliefs caused by early life experiences or loss of relationship
Includes: diary card, behavioral chain analysis, DBT skills group, weekly individual DBT, phone coaching
Solving problems and improving relationships to increase positive emotions and build a client’s identified Life Worth Living
Includes: diary card, behavioral chain analysis, skills groups (if not already completed), mindfulness training, individual DBT, phone coaching (if needed)
Increasing capacity for joy and self awareness related to a connectedness to all beings or a higher power
Includes: mindfulness training, individual DBT
DBT Residential Therapy or Intensive DBT Outpatient Therapy
Possible: DBTSUD Treatment
Intensive Outpatient Therapy or Adherent DBT Therapy
Possible: DBT Prolonged Exposure Treatment
Adherent DBT Therapy or
DBT Informed Therapy
